As of 2019, just over 86,000 people resided in Bryan, while another 118,000 called College Station home. The Bryan-College Station area is conveniently located in the Texas Triangle, making it easy to get to some of the biggest cities in the state. Houston is only 83 miles southeast, while Austin is about 87 miles west-southwest.
 
Much of the Bryan-College Station area’s social and economic life is centered on Texas A&M University, which maintains its flagship campus in College Station, and the area is often referred to as “Aggieland” as a tribute to the school’s students and sports teams. Texas A&M brings numerous employment opportunities to the region, as the university is an appointed land-grant, sea-grant, and space-grant institution.
